by annalice inafter being gone from the jw's for many years now , and having done extensive research on the history of god and the belief in him , i can't seem to find any logical way to have a belief in an invisble being up there ruling over us.

I don't think Dawkins is a dick, but i resent absolute bible bashing tossers like Password protected going around spewing out crap. Asserting that people's atheistic or scientific worldview is based entirely on the ideas of one contemporary man. Completely contradicts the fact that atheism itself is an age old concept.
Following one man's ideas or any limited number of people's ideas is the complete antithesis of science & atheism. And when Password Protect discovers his brain & wises up, he will realise this. Until then, he continues to live in darkness.

WTS causing more anguish
by GapingMouth ini don't really know where to start on my first post; i feel i have so much to say and yet i am so emotionally tired that it is hard to go through it all again in my head.
but, i do need support and advice and so i will make the effort.. i started having doubts about certain beliefs of the witnesses about 2 years ago and did research since that i now come to the belief there is no god, and witnesses definitely are a cult.. at first it bothered me more on the god issue, but now i am more bothered by the cult issue, mainly because it dictates my life even though i am aware of it.. when i was a child, my mother and father divorced and my mother told me i will live with my father because she was going to die at armageddon being a non witness.
i think, as well as many other pressures i cant list for fear of a very long post, this was the main pressure that made me get baptized even though i wasn't that happy being a witness.

Try rethinking your stand on atheism. God will show you the way out of your predicament but not if you reject Him. He doesn't want to be around people who don't want anything to do with Him. I knew an atheist who ended up commiting murder, not that all of them do, of course, but if you sweep it clean Satan and his minions will find a way to enter your abode.
If you want to hear God speak to you, and if your heart is in the right place, get a real Bible, NOT the NWT, and immerse yourself in it. That is your only hope.

What if a scientist decided that possibly or probably you shouldn't be allowed to breed and they sign papers that allow the government to forcibly remove your testicles? You trust scientists that much?
It would surprise me if they had to use such an archaic method considering this is the 21st century.
